It has been a long time since I added a post – in fact since we returned from Zambia in June. But we have been far from quiet since then! Rather we have been very busy making arrangements for the program. First we submitted our program proposal to the Study Abroad office and it was approved. Concurrently we started student recruitment by setting up displays and tables at multiple study abroad fairs, making fliers, having callouts. We have also received travel quotes from two travel agencies and are in the process of making the final decision as to which one we select. We have also been in communication with the various agencies that we hope to work with while in Zambia and are working on developing a tentative itinerary. AND most exciting of all, applications have started to come in for the program :). The deadline for applications is Friday November 30, and so far we have 20 students enrolled on the Study Abroad web site and 7 applications received as of today. We know we are going to get a few more applications – keep them coming because we need enough students to make it happen!
